What Apple has introduced
Product explainer, not a hands-on review. Checked November 4, 2026. Apple's name for this model is iPhone Duo, not iPhone Dual. Its September announcement describes a folding phone with a 5.4-inch outer screen and a 7.6-inch inner screen. Apple lists A20 Pro, side-button Touch ID and side-by-side app multitasking among its features. Its announced availability date was October 23; local stock is a separate question.
The reason to consider this design is space. Reading a document beside a message or comparing two pages can be more useful than repeatedly switching between them. That is our interpretation of the feature, not a measured productivity gain.

Who should consider it?
Make a list of three tasks you actually do on your phone. If each would benefit from two visible apps, a folding screen deserves a closer look. If your routine is mostly short messages, calls and quick photos, a larger inner display may add less value than you expect.
Apple also demonstrates different camera and viewing positions made possible by the hinge. The official film below shows the intended experience. It is promotional material, not independent evidence of durability or everyday battery life.
What to check in person
Try opening it, typing on both displays and holding it during a call. Bring a document you normally read and check the layout at your preferred text size. Examine reflections under ordinary lighting rather than judging only the showroom demonstration.
Before paying, ask about screen repair costs, accidental damage coverage, the return window and which accessories are included. Do not assume a feature demonstrated in a launch film is available in every language, app or region. Check the exact feature you need on Apple's current listing.
Our starting verdict
Shortlist Duo for a specific large-screen workflow. For a familiar phone experience, compare it with iPhone 18 Pro before deciding. We have not tested its hinge, cameras or battery and are not assigning a review score.
What would you put on the two halves of the screen? Tell us the pair of apps you would use most.
